Quels liens le metal et l\u2019art contemporain peuvent-ils entretenir ? Le public de l\u2019art aura pu noter depuis les ann\u00e9es 1990 un nombre croissant de r\u00e9f\u00e9rences assez explicites \u00e0 ce genre musical des plus singuliers. De leur c\u00f4t\u00e9, les amateurs du genre auront pu voir leurs groupes pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9s collaborer avec des artistes visuels. Le genre lui-m\u00eame, marqu\u00e9 par une contente \u00e9volution, a pu r\u00e9v\u00e9ler des langages proches de l\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation. L\u2019esth\u00e9tique d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e par les courants contemporains du metal et le caract\u00e8re extr\u00eame de leurs langage ont marqu\u00e9 en profondeur une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019artiste.<\/p>\n

La conf\u00e9rence analysera d\u2019abord les fondements de la culture metal, puis l\u2019\u00e9volution du genre, afin d\u2019\u00e9tudier en d\u00e9tail les raisons et les mani\u00e8res dont les artistes d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui se sont appropri\u00e9 ses codes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

J\u00e9r\u00f4me Lef\u00e8vre (n\u00e9 en 1977) est commissaire d\u2019exposition ind\u00e9pendant et critique d\u2019art membre de l\u2019AICA.<\/p>\n

En tant que curateur, il a organis\u00e9 plusieurs expositions parmi lesquelles Sound Games (Centre Noroit, Arras) Meanwhile in the Real World (FRAC Ile de France \u2013 Le Plateau, Paris), Pearls of the North (Palais d\u2019I\u00e9na, Paris), Far in Out (Triangle Bleu, Stavelot, Belgique) et Altars of Madness (Casino Luxembourg, Luxembourg, et Confort Moderne, Poitiers), ainsi que plusieurs projections de cin\u00e9ma exp\u00e9rimental.<\/p>\n

En tant que critique d\u2019art, il a collabor\u00e9 \u00e0 de nombreuses revues comme Art Press, Archistorm, Crash et Dust Distiller ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 de nombreuses monographies d\u2019artistes et ouvrages th\u00e9matiques publi\u00e9s dans plusieurs langues.
\nIl est par ailleurs le fondateur de la publication monographique C.S. Journal en 2009 avec Damien Deroubaix qui a consacr\u00e9 ses num\u00e9ros \u00e0 des artistes tels qu\u2019\u00c9lodie Lesourd, Mark Titchner aussi bien que Steven Shearer pour sa participation \u00e0 la Biennale de Venise en 2011.<\/p>\n

J\u00e9r\u00f4me Lef\u00e8vre est \u00e9galement conf\u00e9rencier et enseigne l\u2019Histoire de l\u2019Art \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole Sup\u00e9rieure d\u2019Art de Cambrai (ESAC), ainsi que le commissariat d\u2019exposition \u00e0 l\u2019Institut d\u2019\u00c9tudes Sup\u00e9rieures des Arts (IESA) \u00e0 Paris.<\/p>\n
